The latest research report “India 3G feature phones: consumer interest, purchase intentions and market predictions” pointed out that 3G feature phones will have great disruption. The Indian smart phone market is fiercely competitive, but half of Indian smart phone users are familiar with 3G feature phones, while one third of people are considering using feature phones instead of smart phones or as extra phones.

The 2018 Q2 unstable smartphone and 3G feature phone market provided dynamics. Customers of the mobile phone country share tracking service can view the full report here.

"The phenomenon of 3G feature phones reflects the huge demand of users for more affordable smartphone experiences. 3G feature phones can be used as an alternative to existing mobile phones, and can also be used as an additional device for large numbers of Indian users using multiple SIM cards. It will be a major factor in the wave of replacements in 2018 and 2019. It can be seen from Strategy Analytics' survey results of the AppOptix users surveyed that users have a huge interest in cheaper 3G experiences.”

“The sales of smart phone replacement are fierce. There are no Indian suppliers among the top six mobile phone manufacturers in Q1 in 2018. The market size of 3G functional machines will increase by 4 times in 2018, and may account for all functional machine markets in India by 2020. However, it is expected that the new Android GO smartphone will usher in growth momentum after the second half of 2018."
